I’m Amanda. I’m a freelance writer and blogger specializing in travel and parenting, and I LOVE an adventure.
I think travel brings a family closer together in ways daily life just can’t. Those memories of being on the road-whether it’s a campground in your home state, a special trip to Disney or a flight to Europe-really stick with kids.
And moms and dads, too.
I am originally from Florida but have lived in Arizona for 19 years with my husband, Ruben. We have two awesome kids, Maya and Samuel.
We’ve also lived in Oregon and Israel for my husband’s job. And although I grew up knowing family vacations were a priority, it’s been a necessity since we live so far away from most of our clan now.
We’ve flown back east to visit family numerous times and have gotten to spend time in Canada, Mexico and Hawaii. But our major travel education happened when we were living overseas in Israel.
We knew our time was short, so we took 14 trips to Jordan and around Europe while we were there. (and saw so much of Israel, of course!)
Those years taking a big trip almost every other month taught me a lot about travel planning, how to pack and how to bring it all to life for kids.
And I learned a lot about what NOT to do as well.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope I can inspire you a little, and give you a few tips along the way. But just get out there. Your kids will always remember it.
